When a new season approaches, I like to adjust my beauty products accordingly. This usually means moving the heavy duty products to the back of my stash and bringing forward the lightweight, glowy products that I see myself reaching for on a regular basis. From my most loved makeup and skincare products to some fresh and floral perfumes, here are a few of the products I'll be using this Spring.
PIXI FLAWLESS BEAUTY PRIMER: I've recently introduced the prep & prime stage into my daily makeup routine and I've noticed a real difference in the way my skin looks and feels in its natural state. I've tried my fair share of primers with all kinds of formulas and consistencies but nothing has ever convinced me enough to make it a staple in my routine. The Pixi flawless beauty primer just seems to work for me and contains benefits and properties that I feel a standard primer doesn't. It brightens, smoothes and hydrates the skin, creating a subtle glowy base for your foundation but also gives the complexion a radiant and youthful looking boost when worn alone.
BOURJOIS HEALTHY MIX FOUNDATION: I'm a creature of habit when it comes to my base and when I find a foundation that cooperates with my unpredictable skin type, I tend to devote myself to that particular product. Although Healthy Mix is a staple in my beauty collection all year round, it makes for a perfect spring base due to its light texture that blends into the skin seamlessly creating a flawless, dewy finish. It contains fruit therapy ingredients [apricot, melon and apple] which are designed to hydrate and protect the youth of your skin.
CHARLOTTE TILBURY PILLOW TALK LIPSTICK: Soft nudes and rose-pink hues are my go-to lipstick shades during the warmer months and Charlotte Tilbury's pillow talk is the perfect middle ground of the two. Although it's quite a recent addition to my collection, I've found myself reaching for it more regularly than others as it's one of those really wearable shades that can go with any makeup look.
TOPSHOP GLOW POT: I love the whole glowy look all year round but during the warmer months I tend to prefer a more dewy effect - which is why I lean more toward the creamy formulas. The Topshop glow pot has been a firm favourite of mine for a good couple of years now. It's soft and buttery which applies to the cheeks like a dream and gives off the most gorgeous iridescent glow. I love how it can be used alone for a subtle look but can also be used as a base before applying my powder highlight for that extra pop of radiance.
HOURGLASS SURREAL GLOW BLUSH: For me, it's blush over bronzer no matter the season and Hourglass is one of my favourite brands for blushers. Surreal Glow is a fairly new discovery for me, but I can't get enough of it at the moment. It's a gorgeous pale peony pink shade containing flickers of champagne golds and is quite subtle when applied to the cheeks but creates a fairly natural flushed effect.
JO MALONE BLACKBERRY & BAY: This is one of my favourite scents all year round, but I find myself reaching for it just that little bit more during the warmer months. It's extremely light and fresh and is probably one of the more mature scents in my collection. Although it contains fruity notes, it's not overpoweringly strong or too sweet. Jo Malone scents are significantly long-lasting and the scent tends to get even better once the top notes fade.
CHLOE ROSES: Another staple in my perfume wardrobe. If you adore the signature Chloé scent as much as me then you'll love this one just as much. It's not as intense as the original and the floral notes give it more of a daytime feel which makes for a perfect Spring scent. Rose scents can sometimes be a little too mature for me, but this one holds base notes of amber and white musk which make it a little sweeter and more wearable.
ELLIE SAAB ROSE COUTURE: My mum bought this as a gift for me a few months ago after testing it and thinking it was my kind of scent, and she wasn't wrong. Just like the above, it's a beautiful light and fresh daytime scent that combines floral and fruity notes such as orange blossom and peony-rose. It's long-lasting and refreshing, and I'd even go as far as saying it's one of my favourite perfumes.
ORIGINS GINZING MOISTURISER: I've tried my fair share of moisturisers but this one is like nothing I've ever used before. As mentioned above, my skin can be quite unpredictable at times and when it's feeling a little dehydrated, this product works wonders for me. Not only does it hydrate and smooth out any problem areas, but it instantly refreshes and gives your skin an intense boost without feeling too heavy. Origins is a brand that I'd recommend to anyone after a range of new products that do exactly what they say on the tin.
ANTIPODES AURA MANUKA HONEY MASK: It's very rare to discover a face mask that has an instant and noticeable result. This one from Antipodes is designed to draw moisture to the skin at the same time as cleansing and conditioning, without leaving it feeling uncomfortable whilst doing so. I tend to use this as one of my weekly pampering treats when my skin needs a little pick me up.
JURLIQUE ROSEWATER BALANCING MIST: Hydrating mists are a handbag necessity for me during the warmer months and this one from Jurlique is one of my favourites. Designed to tone and soothe the skin when it's feeling dehydrated, this is an amazing product that can be used before or after applying your makeup, without budging anything. It's floral rose scent makes it stands out from others I've tried as it provides an instant calming and relaxing effect on the skin without being too overpowering.
OSKIA RENAISSANCE CLEANSING GEL: This is an extremely popular product amongst bloggers and it's no surprise as to why. I use this to remove my makeup on a daily basis, but it also comes in handy when my skin is feeling oily and unbalanced too. It's gel to oil formula instantly melts on the skin, removing any traces of makeup and grime with ease, leaving the complexion looking brighter and smoother due to the pumpkin enzyme ingredient. I'd recommend this cleanser to anyone with a dry or combination skin type.
