Valentine's Day is just a couple of days away and although I'm not one to go overboard with romantic gestures, I tend to use it as an excuse to get dressed up and ready using my favourite beauty products. I thought I'd share a few of my most used products that fit the Valentine's theme.
CHLOÉ DE ROSES: I adore the original Chloé fragrance but I sometimes find it a little too intense for everyday use. Chloé de Roses is a lighter, more floral version of this, which makes for a great daytime scent. I usually steer clear of rose scented products as I sometimes find them a little too overpowering, but this is the perfect combination of the classic signature musky scent with a subtle rose twist. As always, this is just as long-lasting and distinguishable as the original, but if you're after something that's a little less harsh for daily use, I'd definitely recommend this one.
NARS ORGASM: This a classic multi-use cheek product that will always hold a firm place in my makeup bag. It's a beautiful, bright rose pink shade with champagne hints running through which create a lovely, golden shimmer on the cheeks. If I'm ever limited for time in the mornings and but still wanting that subtle glowy look, this is the blush I'll usually reach for as the champagne tones replace the need for highlight too.
TOO FACED BETTER THAN SEX: Whenever I want to create a more intense makeup look without the use of fake eyelashes, this is the mascara that I'll find myself reaching for. It adds just the right amount of volume and lift without being too clumpy or heavy on the lashes. I definitely wouldn't class this as an everyday 'barely there' mascara, but it's still up there as one of my favourites. I just find it co-operates really well with my lashes and isn't a nightmare to remove either which is always a bonus.
DIPTYQUE ROSAVIOLA CANDLE: Every year Diptyque release the most beautiful limited edition Valentine's themed candles, and last year my boyfriend was kind enough to buy one for me. The aesthetically pleasing packaging had me swooning over it straight away and I've never owned a rose scented candle before, [although I still can't bring myself to burn it]. The Rosaviola scent was released in collaboration with a French designer and was created with the intention of capturing the mystery of a woman's handbag which explains the rose, lipstick and leather notes.
NYX LIP LINGERIE: If you're after a long-lasting liquid lipstick that doesn't break the bank, then the NYX liquid lingerie collection are the ones to go for. At first, it took me a little while to get used to the formula and texture of these on my lips, but I find myself reaching for them more often than not. The colour pay off is incredible, and each shade can be applied lightly for a softer, more neutral matte lip as well as being built up with a couple more layers for a more intense finish.
URBAN DECAY NAKED 3: I find myself reaching for this palette on a daily basis as I just love the selection of pink toned shades that it offers. Much like my blush choices, I tend to lean toward the warmer end of the spectrum when it comes to eyeshadows. I adore dusky pink and rose gold shades, especially when combined with an intense highlight. These shadows are so easy to apply and have the staying power to last a full day at work too.
