Since growing my nails and finally being pleased with the length and condition, I've become slightly obsessed with buying new nail polishes and discovering the shades that are suited to my skin tone. I thought I would share with you my 4 current summer favourites.
BARRY M COCONUT INFUSION NAIL PAINT - SKINNY DIP: I'm a big fan of white shades during the summer months as I feel they really compliment tanned skin, but there's always that risk element of looking as though you're wearing tipp-ex on your nails. Skinny Dip is the perfect mixture of white, cream and slight pink tones and has a blend of coconut water and oil which is designed to hydrate and nourish the nails leaving them looking healthy and glossy. I really like the formula of these nail polishes as they glide onto the nails smoothly and delivery great results in just one coat.
BARRY M MATTE NAIL PAINT - VANILLA: I'm not usually a lover of lilac shades as I find them quite difficult to wear, but this is a really soft, pastel version that isn't too offensive and goes well with the majority of my outfits. Again, another Barry M polish with a great formula that dries matte on the nails, although I actually prefer wearing it with my OPI top coat to give it more of a glossy look. I must say, I was slightly confused by the name of this shade though as I wouldn't expect something with the name 'vanilla' to be anything but cream/nude. Maybe that's just me.
H&M NAIL POLISH - ROSE UMBER: Although I wouldn't usually class this as a summer shade, I felt as though I'd be cheating myself if I didn't mention it in this post as I've been wearing it non-stop throughout the spring/summer months. This is the perfect dirty rose shade and one that I reach for whenever I fancy a nail refresh or I'm unsure on a shade that will go with my outfit. The quality and formula of the H&M nail polishes are amazing considering the price and you only need a couple of coats to achieve a long-lasting result. I definitely need to get my hands on more shades.
H&M NAIL POLISH - MILKY TEA: Another H&M love of mine. This is a lovely peach toned nude that looks extremely natural on the nails. It has a thinner consistency compared to Rose Umber so 2-3 coats is needed to create an opaque finish which can be a bit tedious but the results are worth it in the end. This is one of those effortless, classy shades that will go with any outfit.
