Discovering new beauty products that soon become ones that I couldn't imagine life without is one of my favourite things to do. Over the past few weeks, I've built up quite a collection of new-in products that I've wanted for a while, so I thought I'd share with you 5 of the ones that I feel are worth the try.
CHARLOTTE TILBURY MAGIC FOUNDATION: A good base makes all the difference to a finished makeup look, and choosing the right one for your own skin type/complexion can be a tricky process. Depending on the occasion or how my skin is feeling at the time, I usually opt for a medium to full coverage base to give my complexion a flawless, but fairly natural look. The Charlotte Tilbury magic foundation is the perfect product to create that desired effect, and has a very similar formula to an old favourite of mine which is the NARS sheer glow. If you're after a foundation that gives your skin a dewy and airbrushed effect but doesn't feel too heavy on the skin, then I would definitely recommend giving this one a go.
NYX LIP LINGERIE LIPSTICK: Admittedly, these aren't the best liquid lipsticks on the market in comparison to the likes of some high end options. They don't have the most long-lasting formula in the world and can be quite drying without the added application of lip gloss, but they are certainly up there as an affordable alternative for any matte lipstick lover. The colour pay off is incredible and there is a generous selection of shades to choose from too. I went for the shades - Bedtime Flirt, Ruffle Trim and Exotic.
PIXI FLAWLESS BEAUTY PRIMER: If I'm honest, primers are usually one of the few makeup products that really doesn't excite me in the slightest, but after hearing so many positive things about this one in particular, I thought I'd see what all the fuss was about. And I really, really like it. It's not often that you find a primer that can not only assist with achieving a flawless and perfected base, but also adds an illuminating glow to the complexion at the same time due to the subtle peach-toned shimmer running throughout.
HOURGLASS AMBIENT LIGHTING POWDER - DIFFUSED LIGHT: When searching for the right powder, I always tend to lean towards the illuminating, colourless shades rather than the matte option as I feel they can sometimes make my face look quite flat. I've tried my fair share of translucent powders and can honestly say that this is up there with one of the best, if not the best that I've tried so far. Although extremely lightweight on the skin, the smallest amount of this finely milled powder creates the most beautiful subtle glow to the complexion and lasts all day, locking in my base and giving my complexion a subtle shimmer.
HOURGLASS BLUSH - MOOD EXPOSURE: Another firm favourite of mine from Hourglass. Blushers aren't usually a makeup product that I tend to splurge on often, but this one in particular changed my thought process entirely. Since purchasing the Ambient Lighting palette last year, Mood Exposure has been a staple in my daily routine for a good few months now. It is such a lovely warm toned, soft plum shade with highlighting elements running throughout which makes life so much easier when you're in a rush and don't have the time to highlight. This is one of those products that supports the saying 'a little goes a long way' as you really do need to add the tiniest amount to the cheeks to create a natural looking flushed effect.
