If your skin is anything like mine, you'll know that it becomes it little harder to manage during the winter months. During the colder seasons, my skin type is a mystery even to me, and there are very little products that I find actually do the job. The majority of the time, I'll go to bed with a face that feels so dry and dehydrated that it could crumble into a thousand pieces at any moment, whilst there's also mornings that I'll wake up with the oiliest T-Zone in the world. There's just no in between. As I've mentioned before, skincare is all about trial and error and it takes a good (few hundred products, in my case) to find the ones that work for you. I've narrowed it down to a few hero products that I feel could help you on your way to banishing that dry, winter skin.
MARIO BADESCU FACIAL SPRAY: This was one of those last minute, panic buys whilst in the Urban Outfitters queue, but I am so glad I picked it up. Hydrating skin mists always play a big part in my routine, especially on those days when I'm not feeling too fresh after a few prosecco's the night before. I tend to get extremely dehydrated skin if I neglect it even just for one night before bed, so this just does the job at bringing it back to life quite quickly. The aloe vera and rosewater ingredients are designed to loosen up any tight complexions, whilst boosting hydration and just overall making your skin feel a lot cleaner and rejuvenated. You can use this as a second step after your moisturiser to give your skin that extra boost, but best of all, you can use this product as a makeup setting spray AND a light moisturising mist for dry hair. A great multi-use product at a very reasonable price too.
CLARINS MULTI-ACTIVE JOUR DAY CREAM: After using up my all time favourite Origins GinZing moisturiser, I decided it was time to try something a little more heavy-duty that would also have the effects of beginning the anti-ageing process on my skin. I'm aware that I'm not near to retirement yet, but I've always been told that it's best to look after your skin at an early age to give it the kick-start that it needs. Clarins is a brand that has very recently been introduced into my life, but no product I've tried so far has failed me. The Mult-Active day cream is designed for all skin types and can be used in conjunction with the night cream to correct the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles due to the Myrothamnus ingredient. It also has the benefits of restoring radiance and hydration, whilst maintaining younger looking skin overall. Both day and night creams are quite thick and heavy, but they don't leave your skin feeling oily and greasy after a few hours like some.
ELIZABETH ARDEN 8 HOUR CREAM: I've mentioned the 8 hour cream a fair few million times on my blog purely because it's one of those truly amazing, multi-use products that are a must-have throughout any season, although particularly during the colder months. Whether it's a dry area on the body, to treat chapped lips, soften nail cuticles, or to help with the healing of scarring and red areas on the skin, this product honestly works miracles. It's not often that I'll repurchase something unless I feel like I honestly couldn't live my life without it, but this is one that I know I will always keep in my stash.
