Whilst it's now time to say goodbye to our summer beauty, it's time to say hello to our darker tones, bronze/golden eyes and the gorgeous berry lipsticks. Autumn is my favourite time of the year for many reasons and the perfect opportunity to try out some different looks and re-organise my dressing table, prioritising the warmer toned products. I like to wear quite natural makeup in A/W which is why everything here is quite basic.
Starting off with the foundation, the Estée Lauder Double Wear is a must have during the colder seasons - I'd say it's a little too thick to wear in the summer which is why I'm so excited to finally use it again. The tiniest amount stays on all day without budging in the slightest, it has a complete full coverage and just looks perfectly matte and flawless on the skin. Along with NARS Sheer Glow - this is one of my favourite foundations. Ever. I don't tend to wear powder with double wear as like I said before, it already has that perfect matte finish so I don't feel it's needed. If you can't go without a powder, maybe try a translucent loose powder to lock in any shine and add that extra security (the NARS light reflecting loose powder is amazing).
My current favourite Autumnal eyeshadow palette is the Zoeva Cocoa Blend which you've probably seen in about 400 other posts, but I honestly just can't get enough of it. I would describe this as the perfect A/W palette as it's full of warm toned shades (browns, cranberries, bronzes and golds) and holds a relatively cheap price tag too. *full review here*. The three most used eyeshadow brushes of mine at the moment are my Zoeva luxe petite crease which came in my Zoeva Rose Gold Luxury Brush Set and my two MAC brushes (239 & 238).
Now on to my favourite part, the lips! MAC wins hands down when it comes to Autumn lip trends as they have the most amazing collection of brown and neutral shades. The three shades that I've been reaching for the most whenever Autumn comes around are; Brave, Faux and Velvet Teddy. Each shade is different in their own way - Brave is my usual every day shade and is more of a pink-beige, whereas Faux is a muted mauve-pink and Velvet Teddy is a deeper toned brown-beige. These are three staple shades that every girl should have in their lipstick collection! I tend to use MAC's Subculture lip pencil the majority of the time when it comes to adding more definition when wearing the brown/neutral shades. I'm also loving the Maybelline Color Drama lipstick in Berry Much as it truly is the perfect A/W berry shade. I just wish I could pull it off though!
I like to add a bit of highlight and sparkle to my cheeks to finish off any look which is where my Mac Soft and Gentle highlighter comes into place. This is one of those products that I literally couldn't live without. I prefer my highlighters to have warm, gold tones running through them rather than the cool pink toned shades and this is the perfect match for my skin tone. The tiniest amount just gives the tops of my cheek bones and relevant parts of my face that all round natural glow that I crave throughout the colder seasons of the year. I've had this for over 6 months now and it still doesn't look like it's even been touched. Well worth the buy!
