Although I like to do the main parts of my skincare routine in the bathroom, I also like to make sure I have some staple products within reach when I'm finally in bed, especially during the winter evenings when my skin suffers the most. I like to keep my bedside table beauty to a minimum as it's just one area that I hate being cluttered, so I'll only have products that either need to be used up or that I genuinely rely on of an evening. It may not be the most luxurious line up, but having these particular products nearby is always handy when I'm wrapped up like a cinnamon bun and too lazy to move. Here are the ones that are currently on my bedside table during the winter months.
ELIZABETH ARDEN 8 HOUR CREAM: This is one of those hero multi-functional products that'll be on my bedside table through rain or shine. I rely on this so much that I've even resorted to carrying a spare in my handbag too. Whether it's to help with the healing of spots, dry skin areas, dehydrated or chapped lips, this will be the product I'll reach for in any conundrum as I know 99% of the time it will have improved those problem areas by the morning. I feel as though everyone should have one of these in their skincare collection as it really does work wonders for most things.
GLOSSIER PRIMING MOISTURISER: Moisturiser is a key product in my evening skincare routine and sometimes I like to apply an extra layer right before I go to sleep, especially around the nose and mouth area at the moment. This one from Glossier is ideal in these situations as it's super light, but also buildable if I want to use it in the mornings before applying makeup. It has some amazing ingredients such as hyaluronic acid and mushroom super hydrator which are designed to visibly plump the skin and provide deep moisture whilst leaving a dewy, balanced finish.
SUDOCREM: Probably the least glamorous product on my bedside table, but this is a life-saver when it comes to spots. I'm fortunate enough not to get them regularly, but when I do I'll use a cotton bud to apply this to the area and it's usually gone by the next morning. Its water-repellent base forms a protective barrier on the skin overnight which helps dry out and soothe the area without causing irritation.
KIEHL'S MIDNIGHT RECOVERY CONCENTRATE: I have a love/hate relationship with night oils as I really don't like the feeling of an oily face, but I'll still apply one if I'm in desperate need of some extra hydration throughout the night, [which seems to be quite often at the moment]. One of my current favourites is this one from Kiehl's as although quite intense, it doesn't feel too heavy or greasy on the skin and applies smoothly, making my skin feel fresh when I wake up. It seems to improve my quality of sleep due to the lavender extracts too.
ANTHROPOLOGIE CAPRI BLUE CANDLE: I like to have a few candles on the go as I find they relax me when I'm trying to wind down during the evenings, especially after a long day at work. I'll usually have a Diptyque one lit on my bedside table, but my favourite at the moment is one from Anthropologie. Not only does it smell incredible, but it compliments my bedside table accessories, such as my lamp, too.
