As I recently found the dusky pink makeup bag of dreams in H&M, I wanted to photograph it in all it's glory, so thought it would only be fitting to share a 'what's in my makeup bag' post. Although I probably don't use half of these items once I've applied my makeup in the morning, I feel it's better to be safe than sorry so I lug them around with me anyway, as you do. Here are a few of my essentials.
THE FACE PRODUCTS
It's very rare that I'll carry a foundation in my makeup bag unless I'm staying overnight somewhere, so a good coverage concealer and a long-lasting powder are necessities. I've recently replaced my Collection lasting perfection concealer for something that I feel works wonders for my imperfections, which is the Bourjois Radiance Reveal concealer. This is great for covering those dark circles in the morning and masking any problem areas on my face throughout the day. My powder of choice is the Hourglass Ambient Lighting in the shade diffused light. Although a little on the pricey side and a very risky product to carry around in my handbag, this is possibly the best powder I have ever tried and does a brilliant job at creating a matte effect whilst getting rid of any shine that may occur as the day goes on. In terms of blushers, I'll usually change it up a bit depending on what the day entails, but 90% of the time, it's a choice between the NARS Orgasm or the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Mood Exposure.
THE EYE PRODUCTS
I like to stick with the basics when it comes to eye products. I never feel the need to top up on my eyeshadow while I'm out and about, mainly due to the excellence of the Too Faced Shadow Insurance Eye Primer, but I always like to make sure I have a mascara and eyeliner to hand just in case. There's no guessing on what would be mascara of choice as I've spoken about it a thousand times - the Maybelline Lash Sensational. I just feel it does everything I could possibly need a mascara to do to my lashes. My every day eye liner is the Rosie for Autograph Liquid Liner (this is the absolute dream to apply). One last I product I tend to carry around with me is Benefit's Brow Zings palette. I'm yet to find another eyeshadow product that works better for me. The medium shade is the perfect match for my eyebrows and the applicator brush just seems to work amazingly with the shape of my brows. It's not often that I need a brow top up but it's there just in case of a rainy day and a disastrous eyebrow scenario.
THE LIP PRODUCTS
Like most girls, just one lipstick in my makeup bag is never enough for me, so I usually carry 3 mac lipsticks around at a time. They vary depending on what I'm wearing and I'll change things up most mornings but a couple of my staple shades are Mehr, Taupe and Brave. I'm a huge lover of brown/red shades and these ones in particular are extremely such versatile, every day shades that I feel suit my skin tone/lip colour perfectly. Obviously, I can't go without a lip liner to accentuate my lips just that little bit more, so I'll usually pop Soar or Spice into my makeup bag too.
THE BRUSHES & TOOLS
I always carry around a set of tweezers as well as my H&M rose gold eyelash curlers in case my lashes are looking a little limp and need a bit of an uplift throughout the day. I tend to get ready in about 20 minutes for work so find myself reaching for my curlers in the car before I walk into the office as curled lashes give that effect of making your eyes look more awake. My holy grail brushes and the ones that I'll always have with me are 2 from Zoeva - the powder brush (106) and the luxe sheer cheek brush (127). Not only are these brushes so soft and such amazing quality, but they also come in rose gold which just makes the perfect addition to my makeup bag.
