HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! I hope you all have exciting plans for tonight and are aiming to end 2015 in the best way possible! I'm that person that has left everything until the last minute which has resulted in me having no plans whatsoever - so at this rate, it looks like Tom and I will be staying in watching the fireworks on the sofa with a takeaway, several bottles of prosecco and an overload of Christmas chocolate (which I'm secretly not that fussed about).
I thought I'd start off by including last years post as a little reflection on what's changed and to see whether I managed to stick to the goals I set a whole year ago. This is actually the first time I've read this post since it was written so it was interesting to see what I'd set myself. My first goal was to save, which I have to admit, I failed miserably at. Butttt, I'm quite proud of the fact that I managed to complete 1/2 as I did get myself a new job. In fact, I've had 2 very different jobs since that post - from a Beauty Consultant at Benefit Cosmetics to a Junior Creative Designer at a completely different company, I couldn't be happier with the progress I've made. Anyway, before I start going off on a tangent, here are my goals for the upcoming year:
CHANGE BLOGGING PLATFORMS: I recently moved to Squarespace as I thought it would be the better option for me but if I'm honest, it's the complete opposite of what I was hoping for. As much as I love the difference in design and how easy it is to function, it is way too simple for me. Never would I ever think I'd say something like that, but since starting my new job and working with HTML every day, it's something that I'd like to be able to access on my blog so I can add/remove certain parts and make it my own. I'm thinking of moving to Wordpress and completely re-designing my blog (yes, AGAIN) but I just don't feel satisfied with the way it's looking at the moment which has made me neglect it recently, and I really don't want that to happen. I also feel like my followers have literally hit a stand still since moving which I know isn't the be all and end all of blogging but it's not ideal. I'd love to know if you think I should make the move and whether it would be worth it?
BLOG REGULARLY: I feel that this is something that'll change the more satisfied I am with the look of my blog. If I'm happy with the design and all aspects of it, I know for a fact that I'll want to spend more time on it and post a lot more. I've had a little break over the Christmas period and I must admit that I've missed blogging a lot so I know this is something I'll commit to. I'm aiming to be a little more organised and make use out of the hundreds of notebooks/planners I own and start to blog at least 3 times a week so it's consistent.
SAVE: This is a really important one for me as I'm literally addicted to online shopping. As soon as I have the money, I'll spend it. This is a really bad habit of mine, and one that I really wanna pull myself away from. The fact that I failed at this last year has made me even more determined to stick to it this year. Let's face it, I don't wanna be 45 and still living at home with my mum.
How are you spending your NYE? What are your resolutions for 2016?
