Besides the excitement of the holiday itself, there's no better feeling than being organised for every situation leading up to it, including the plane journey. I'm one of those people that will pack a week or so before the date purely because it eases my mind knowing that I'm fully equipped with everything I could possibly need to make my journey a little more bearable. For those who struggle with knowing what to take, I thought I'd share with you my own little check list of the things I always carry with me in my hand luggage bag to help you to avoid any last minute stressing on the day...
As much as I love going on holiday, I absolutely hate the concept of flying so I always make sure that I pack enough to occupy my mind during those hours of being up in the sky. Although I'm not able to use the internet on my phone, it always comes in handy for a few other things such as music, games etc. A good playlist is a must have as not only does it help your brain to relax, but it drowns out any unnecessary noises too. Reading material is important as well - I like to take a couple of girly magazines or a book with me to make the time go a little quicker. I've also packed a notebook and a pen just in case I have any inspiring thoughts whilst I'm sat on my bum for a few hours (probably not) but it's worth a go.
One of the most important things for me is being comfortable on a plane in the limited space that I have - and as my flight is at 5 the morning, I know for a fact that I'll wanna sleep for the most part of the journey which is why I've tried to make sleeping arrangements a little easier for myself this time and bought myself a travel cushion. I've also made sure that I've packed some comfy clothes too - an oversized jumper and a pair of fluffy socks are two of my travel essentials as not only it does it sometimes get cold on the plane, but it just helps me that little bit more with relaxation.
I try to wear as little makeup as possible, if not none at all when flying as not only do I feel that my skin needs to breathe when I'm up in the air, but also because I can't bear the thought of applying a full face of makeup at 2:30 in the morning. My skin and lips tend to get really dehydrated on the plane so I've packed my MAC lip conditioner and my Body Shop moisturiser as well as some cleansing wipes just in case I do decide to wear any makeup and want to take it off later on. Makeup wise, I'm only taking a couple of bits with me - a MAC lipstick, my Sleek blush palette and a brush to apply... If it was a daytime flight I'd probably take a few more items with me, but I doubt I'll want to wear anything this time.
What are your in-flight essentials? Is there anything extra that you would take with you?
