It's safe to say that I'm obsessed with NARS at the moment, so when I received a House of Fraser gift voucher for my birthday from my nan & grandad AND discovered that there was a £10 discount when buying two products online, I just had to have a little splurge - it would only be the acceptable thing to do, right?
I decided to go for 2 products that I've obsessed over for years (literally) which were; the blush in 'Orgasm' - one of those iconic beauty products that every girl lusts over, and one of the amazing eyeshadow duos in 'Alhambra'. The light reflecting loose powder was actually a birthday present I received from my boyfriend so the HOF voucher wasn't used for this one. Needless to say, these are 3 amazing products that I've seriously been missing as they completely satisfy my needs just through their appearances lettalone their amazing qualities.
NARS ORGASM BLUSH: If you haven't heard of this before then I would like to know where you have been for the past few years! This is the definition of a cult classic and is something I've wanted to get my hands on since I first laid eyes on it. If you're a lover of peachy-pink shades that have those subtle hints of golden shimmer running through them, then this is the blusher you need in your makeup bag. One thing I will say is that it is very similar to one of my previous favourites - Sleek's rose gold blush in terms of the golden-pink shade, although it has been a firm replacement due to pigmentation and quality. This gorgeous pink shimmer is super easy to apply and adds a natural and warm looking glow to any makeup look. It's also a really quick and easy way to add a subtle highlight to the cheeks with that added blend of colour.
NARS LIGHT REFLECTING LOOSE SETTING POWDER:£26.50 Although I love all 3 of my purchases from NARS, this has to be a steady favourite of mine. I've been looking for a lightweight powder that added an 'airbrushed' finish to my base for such a long time, so when Sarah Ashcroft mentioned it in one of her YouTube videos (her skin always looks flawless) I knew I had to give it a try. I've been using this every single day since my birthday and I must admit, I've kind of pushed my MAC mineralise skin finish to the side (I never thought I'd see the day) as it just adds such a light, but effective layer and locks my makeup in place which is perfect for an everyday and more natural makeup look. This is a translucent powder so is suited to all skin tones and leaves a lovely matte finish on the skin and has slight illumination factors, although not as brightening as others I've tried. The one thing that is slightly annoying is that it's not travel practical as once you've peeled off the sticker covering the holes, you're unable to re-cover them.
NARS EYESHADOW DUO in ALHAMBRA: £25 I originally wanted the eyeshadow duo in 'Isolde' as I thought it would be perfect for Autumn but as it was sold out everywhere online, I opted for 'Alhambra' as my alternative and I have no regrets about my decision in the slightest. As described by NARS, this duo contains two shades - the left side being a 'metallic rose mist' and the right side being a 'golden champagne' shade, which I would say is completely accurate. These are very wearable, every day pink and gold toned shades with that slight bit of shimmer (enough to turn a day time look into an evening look with a few extra layers). I absolutely love everything about this duo - the shadows are extremely pigmented and so easy to blend and they just compliment each other so well. Both shades are so versatile too - they just slightly cross the line of being in the nude category which makes them perfect for an every day look as they're not too dramatic. I know for a fact that I'll get so much use out of this.
Have you tried any of these NARS products before? Which others would you recommend?
