I must admit, I am a bit of a lazy one when it comes to skincare and I really don't look after my skin as much as I should. I've never been one of those girls who commit to a routine and stick to it every day - I go through little phases when I buy a new product to try and introduce to my face and then it doesn't get used for weeks. Maybe that's because I haven't found the perfect moisturiser that has really blown me away yet, but after hearing such amazing things about the Origins range, I really wanted to try some of it out to see whether it made a difference to the way I thought about skincare. I've now been using this for a few weeks, before bed and in the mornings when I wake up and I just love how much of a difference it has made, leaving my skin feeling so refreshed after every application.
Not only does it have such a lightweight texture that is instantly absorbed into the skin and gives off such a beautiful and healthy looking glow, but it also smells absolutely incredible which is probably my favourite part about it and the main reason I was persuaded to buy it. I'm crazy about citrus scents so when I read reviews about it and when people were saying that it smelt like fresh oranges, it instantly made me want it even more. I find citrus products so fresh feeling and energising and I'm not gonna lie, it's good enough to eat. I actually look forward to putting this on my face just so I can experience the smell over and over again, which has been an amazing way to get me back into skincare.
The oil free, gel like formula is a massive bonus too as it is perfect for every skin type due to the fact that it's not too heavy but it gives the appropriate amount of moisture that the skin needs. I've used moisturisers as a base for my makeup in the past before but have never been keen on the effect it gives - I find that it feels like I have too many layers on my face at once and my makeup doesn't last as long as usual but this is the complete opposite as it actually allows smoother application to my foundation as well as giving off that natural glow.
If you're anything like me and suffer from dry skin in certain areas such as the sides of my nose, this is honestly perfect as the panax ginseng and coffee bean ingredients hydrate and get rid of any yucky parts leaving the skin feeling soft and energised (exactly what it says on the tin). The Origins website describes this product as a 'skin energy drink' which I completely agree with as it wakes me up instantly when used in the mornings but also gives my skin that extra bit of attention before I go to bed so that I wake up feeling fresh too.
Overall, I absolutely love this moisturiser and will definitely be trying out more products from the Origins range. I would love an all over moisturiser just like this so that I can smell like fresh oranges on every part of my body! At £23, it's a little more than I would usually spend on a facial moisturiser but it is amazing quality and I can tell it's gonna last me a long time, so it was well worth the spend.
