As much as I love a good drugstore bargain and will never say never to trying out recommended dupes, sometimes there's just no better feeling than getting your hands on that high end product that you've been lusting over for months. I've rounded up some of my current high end favourites that I feel are completely worth the investment.
JO MALONE BLACKBERRY & BAY COLOGNE: It was only a matter of time before I jumped on the Jo Malone bandwagon as it's one of those cult brands that I've been desperate to try for months. I was lucky enough to receive the perfume in blackberry and bay as a Christmas present last year and it's been one of the most well loved products to grace my perfume wardrobe ever since. I don't tend to go for floral scents but this one in particular has completely changed my views. Being such a beautiful, light and fresh scent, it sits in the daytime category for me but the fruity notes make it versatile enough to wear at night too.
HOURGLASS AMBIENT LIGHTING EDIT: Possibly one of the most Instagrammed and talked about products of 2015, the Hourglass palette lives up to its high standards in every way. Consisting of 6 beautiful multi-use products (blushes, bronzers, highlighters and contour shades), this truly is the palette of dreams. Each powder is finely milled, incredibly soft and lightweight on the skin and easily blended to create the most gorgeous, radiant glow to the cheek bones. At £65, this palette is on the pricey side but with the quality that it holds, I feel that it's worth every single penny.
TOO FACED BETTER THAN SEX MASCARA: Mascara is a product that holds an extremely important place in my makeup bag as it's something that I'm very unlikely to leave the house without. It's safe to say that I've tried different types from the likes of most brands in existence and although there have been ones that I've repurchased (Benefit's Rollerlash and the Maybelline Lash Sensational are examples of this), I'm yet to find a firm favourite. I'd heard some really positive things about the Better Than Sex mascara and was really pleased to discover that they were all true. This works really well with my lashes as it gives them the perfect amount of lift and volume without making them look clumpy or unnatural. It lasts all day and doesn't cement itself onto the lashes which means that it isn't a nightmare to remove.
CHARLOTTE TILBURY LIP SLICK - VERY VICTORIA: It's taken me such a long time to finally give in and treat myself to a Charlotte Tilbury product. No matter how many times I've been on her website and added one of the lipsticks to my shopping bag, I just couldn't bring myself to make the purchase. CT is one of the most hyped about makeup brands in the blogging world which definitely made me feel like I was missing out. I recently purchased one of her lip slicks which included the lipstick in Very Victoria and the lip liner in Foxy Brown, a gorgeous nude/brown combination - which holds similarities of MAC's Velvet Teddy, but has a slightly different consistency. Both products definitely live up to their standards and are incredibly creamy, long-lasting and not drying in the slightest.
MAC SINGLE EYESHADOWS - NAKED LUNCH & SATIN TAUPE: For someone who has an acrylic drawer full of Mac lipsticks, I'm actually quite surprised at myself for not starting my eyeshadow collection sooner. I recently tweeted looking for some recommendations on some basic, neutral shades to get me started and naked lunch & satin taupe were two of the few that were mentioned the most. Naked lunch is a beautiful champagne pink shade with a subtle shimmer and is one that I've currently been reaching for on a daily basis. I tend to apply it all over the lids as a base shade and then add a small amount of satin taupe (a purply/brown with streaks of silver shimmer) to the outer corners of my eyelids for a smoky effect. Both shadows are amazing quality, super silky and smooth and apply like a dream.
Have you tried any of these products? What did you think?
