If you're anything like me, you'll agree that a watch is definitely one of the most important accessories when it comes to completing a look. Whether it's a casual jumper, jeans and knee high boots or a glamorous little black dress, there's just something about having that sparkling wrist piece that I feel adds that extra element of class and maturity to any outfit.
I was recently contacted by one of the guys at JORD watches, who kindly gave me the opportunity to choose one of the amazing pieces from their site. After having a little browse at what they had to offer, it's safe to say that I jumped at the chance of getting my hands on one, especially as I'd never come across a selection of watches quite like it. JORD are a brand that specialise in unique, wooden watches designed for both male and female. Yep, that's right. A watch, made out of wood. Can you see why I was so intrigued now? Not only do their pieces come in a wide range of colours and finishes, but they are all hand-crafted from sustainable, natural wood - which means no watch is the same as another.
As I'm a lover of anything (and everything) rose gold, after much debate, I decided to go for the Koa and Rose Gold* piece from the Cora range. This is a gorgeous mid brown toned design that accentuates the Swarovski crystal markers circling the sapphire glass face. I picked this one in particular because not only did I want something fairly neutral that I'd get a lot of wear out of, but also as I felt that it would compliment my favourite Tiffany ring too - which I won't leave the house without.
My watch was delivered to me last weekend and came neatly packaged in a lovely little wooden box, presented on the cutest little tweed cushion to keep it safe and in good shape. It also came with a 1 year warranty card and some extra links, although I was asked to measure my wrist before everything was sent out to me so mine fit like a dream. I have to say, I really didn't expect to love this watch as much as I do. The quality is no different to some of the more expensive ones that I've lusted over, but it comes with a much more affordable price tag ($275 which is just £181).
One of my favourite things about my JORD watch is that it is so comfortable to wear. The fact that it's made from wood means that it's really lightweight and doesn't pinch the skin like metal watches sometimes do. It also has the most interesting feature which allows you to look inside and see all the little cogs and mechanisms working - I find this so fascinating and another reason why their pieces are super quirky and unique. I can't wait to publish this post so I can finally start wearing it.
With Christmas on the way, this would make the most perfect gift for that special someone in your life, or even if you fancy treating yourself to a new little investment. If you'd like to have a look at what JORD have to offer, then visit their site here. Although the company is based in the US, they offer free shipping worldwide and the service is AMAZING.
What are your opinions on wooden watches? Is this something you would wear?
